Two second half goals from both sides earned Morecambe a share of the spoils at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday afternoon.
Wimbledon were the better side in the first half with Jack Midson coming close when Chris Bush played in a back pass to Midson who tested returning Morecambe 'keeper Barry Roche who tipped the ball away.
Morecambe seemed to be somewhat lacking in confidence and Jason Euell should have given the home side the lead but he couldn`t take the advantage afforded to him by the Morecambe defence and he blazed the ball high over the stand.
The closest Morecambe came to scoring in the first half came just before the break when Danny Carlton`s shot was well saved by Seb Brown.
There was improvement in the second half and Morecambe took the lead in the 52nd minute when Danny Carlton was given time to get a cross into the box and Gary McDonald managed to get onto the end of it and did just enough to give the Shrimps the lead.
Sam Hatton had his free kick well saved by Barry Roche as the Dons searched for a way back into the game.
The inevitable equaliser came in the 75th minute when Rashid Yussuff had the ball played to him and after beating McDonald and Fenton he slotted the ball past Barry Roche to make it 1-1.
Morecambe almost sealed the win at the death but Garry McDonald somehow managed to miss the target from close range and we had to settle for a draw.
Morecambe now have the unenviable task of going away to Crawley Town on Wednesday night looking to get something from the team we thrashed 6-0 in September.
