Old In Team Of The Week (13/11/17)

Morecambe are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Steve Old in the two one victory over Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend at the Globe Arena was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Old was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'After a run of just one win in seven games, and without a goal in three, Jim Bentley`s Morecambe got back to winning ways against Wycombe Wanderers at the Globe Arena. The Shrimps turned in a terrific defensive display with several players in the running for selection, but we've opted for Old after he headed home the first goal in the 2-1 triumph.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Old for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Remi Matthews (Plymouth Argyle), Danny Grainger (Carlisle United), Ryan Inniss (Colchester United), Steve Old (Morecambe), Lee Holmes (Exeter City), Alex MacDonald (Mansfield Town), Neal Bishop (Scunthorpe United), Peter Pawlett (MK Dons), Harry Anderson (Lincoln City), Brett Pitman (Portsmouth), Chris Long (Northampton Town).

Manager - Derek Adams (Plymouth Argyle).
