Ellison In Team Of The Week (14/2/17)

Morecambe are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Kevin Ellison in the two nil victory over Cambridge United at the weekend at the Globe Arena was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Ellison was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'He might be 37, but Ellison still has the goalscoring knack, and that proved vital as Morecambe defeated Cambridge United. Two goals in six second-half minutes earned the Shrimps man the EFL Star of the Day.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Ellison for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Joe Lumley (Bristol Rovers), Mat Sadler (Shrewsbury Town), Sean Morrison (Cardiff City), Jamaal Lascelles (Newcastle United), George Cooper (Crewe Alexandra), Alex Pritchard (Norwich City), John-Joe O'Toole (Northampton Town), Aiden McGeady (Preston North End), Kevin Ellison (Morecambe), Danny Hylton (Luton Town), Tomer Hemed (Brighton).

Manager - Derek Adams (Plymouth Argyle).
