Lincoln Loan For Marshall

Marcus Marshall isn't going to be involved for Morecambe this season after his exit was confirmed last week.

The midfielder, who wasn't at his best during his time at the Globe Arena as Jim Bentley knows all too well, wasn't going to get the first-team football he would have wanted with the Shrimps so has been allowed to leave on loan.

Conference outfit Lincoln City have snapped him up on a season-long loan.

Bentley told the official website: 'We have never really seen the best of Marcus as he had a lot of injuries last season.

'We all hope he has more luck this season and makes an impact at Lincoln.

'He is at the age where he needs to play first team football and with the squad we have now I can't promise him that so it will be good for him.'

Marshall will have former Shrimps Tony Diagne and Jordan Burrow playing alongside him at Sincil Bank.

Bentley decided at the end of last season that Marshall wasn't in his first-team plans and transfer-listed him.
