'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Former Defender Could Return

Laurence Wilson is being given the chance to earn himself a return to the Globe Arena with it confirmed that the defender is on trial with the club.

Morecambe say it's more of a case of him 'training with the club' as Jim Bentley, and everyone connected with the Shrimps, knows what the 27-year-old is capable of mind so it isn't like he has to prove himself as such.

With a left back very much on the agenda free agent Wilson could fit the bill and Bentley is happy to welcome him back to see if he can offer him what he's looking for.

Bentley told the Visitor: 'Loz is out of contract and we know what he's all about.

'We're in need of a left back so it's case of having a little look at him and it's the same scenario with Alan Goodall at the moment.

'Loz was a good servant to the club last time around, he's still a good age, he knows all the lads and is a likeable person so we're having a look.'

You'd imagine that there's a very good chance that Wilson, who left to sign for Rotherham United two summers ago, could well earn himself a new contract with the club and add to his 100 plus appearances previously.

A deal isn't close but with Wilson now a free agent following his exit from Accrington Stanley if terms are right it is virtually his to win isn't it?
