Bradford Pre-Season Friendly Scrapped

Bradford Pre-Season Friendly Scrapped

Morecambe's proposed pre-season friendly with Bradford City has been cancelled; an alternative fixture is being sought though.

The Shrimps were meant to go to Valley Parade on Saturday 2nd August to face the league 1 side but with the league cup (Capital One Cup) draw also pairing the sides together when made last month it always left the fixture in doubt.

On Friday it was officially confirmed by both clubs that this had been cancelled by mutual consent.

Bradford wasted little time in replacing us with our league 2 rivals Hartlepool to fill that void on the same day, but as of this moment no replacement fixture has been announced by Morecambe.

It's easy to see why this decision was made isn't it? Morecambe also confirmed that any purchased tickets will 'of course remain valid for the replacement fixture to be announced in due course', again as you would expect.
