Carlton Calls It A Day
Former Morecambe player Danny Carlton has retired from the game at the age of 30.
Carlton will always be remembered for being the player to score the goal that secured a place in the football league for the first even time when his goal led to victory over Exeter a play-off final.
After leaving the club for Carlisle United he returned on loan in November 2008 before moving onto Bury, eventually returning in 2011 on a two-year contract but a serious knee injury in 2012 wasn't ever really recovered from and he left to move back into non-league last summer.
On Friday though Carlton announced that he was retiring from the game.
