'Keeper For Keeps

Morecambe were given an end of season boost by the new that Barry Roche had agreed a new contract with the club.

Jim Bentley was 'desperate' for the 32-year-old to extend his stay with the club, where he's been since 2008, and in the lead up to the season finale with Bury the club were able to announce that a new two-year contract had been agreed.

An official statement said: 'The Shrimps have had some great news this afternoon with the news that Barry Roche has signed a new two year deal.

'Roche signed the deal this afternoon ahead of the Bury game.'

This is indeed great news!

Roche has been an excellent servant to Morecambe, both on and off the pitch, so if anyone isn't happy with this I'd be surprised, wouldn't you?
