'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bentley Admits Shrimps Are Getting Dragged In

Given the run of form that Morecambe are now on it's fair to say that the club are in a relegation battle.

Jim Bentley fears another defeat, and a heavy 5-0 defeat this time against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, leaves his side at greater risk of being 'dragged in' to the league two relegation battle.

If levels of performance, the likes of what was seen against Plymouth, continue then the boss knows Morecambe have a battle on their hands and will struggle until the campaign ends.

Bentley told BBC Radio Lancashire: 'We are getting dragged into it and yes we are in the relegation battle.

'If we turn in performances like this, there's no doubt about it, we will struggle until the end of the season.

'You are always a little bit anxious looking over your shoulder.'

He knows that the league 'doesn't lie' and Morecambe, as they were earlier in the season, are where they deserve to be and were haunted by a former player when Lewis Allesandra when he scored two against his former side.

Bentley knows this was something that was always likely and he always feared when he left.
