Take One For The Team

Take One For The Team

It's some show of commitment that you are willing to take a massive whack if it benefits the team.

This is exactly what happened to Kevin Ellison last weekend.

Ellison knew that he would be clattered as he dove in to head Morecambe's late winner against Mansfield last Saturday. This saw him suffer a fractured eye socket.

Does he have any regrets? Not at all!

The veteran striker insists that he would take another serious injury if it meant he would score a winning goal again.

Ellison told BBC Radio Lancashire: 'If the ball bounced there again and I had a chance would I take it? Of course, I would.

'I saw the specialist on Monday and he was worried about my sight but I'd take that for a winner.'

That's the kind of commitment that any fan wants to hear, and exactly what we need at this club.

The 34-year-old might be back in training already, however this injury was always going to keep him out for a month.

You can rest assured he is champing at the bit to get back into the fray mind!

This site is looking for an editor (at least contributor), so if a fan can offer us a genuine opinion from someone that supports them we would love to share it with the masses!
