A Gong To Avoid?

A Gong To Avoid?

It's always a pleasure to be recognised for your achievements isn't it?

However sometimes it can be best not to get the full accolade that goes with it...

Jim Bentley is in a position where he could be awarded something that can often be something of a jinx, dare I say poisoned chalice!

Following another fine month the boss has been nominated as one of the options to be the league two Manager of the Month.

If he is going to claim this award Bentley will have to fend off competition from Paul Cook (Chesterfield), Paul Cox (Mansfield Town) and Keith Hill (Rochdale).

Perhaps some of his rivals have actually collected more points than we did, but with three of the four games coming away from the Globe I'd not bet against that achievement being recognised?

With the next fixture (following the award of the monthly prize) often seeing a defeat felt perhaps it would be best Bentley didn't get this though?

Then again if you deserve this award you should get it so good luck to Jim!
