Pleased With A Point And A Clean Sheet

Pleased With A Point And A Clean Sheet

Chances were at a premium but as an away team you will almost always take a point wouldn't you?

This is what Morecambe did at the weekend when they went to Northampton and came back with a point following a 0-0 draw at Sixfields...

From the limited chances that came it was us that found the target more, in fact Northampton didn't manage this once did they!

Northampton soundly beat the Shrimps last season so it was a bonus to first and foremost see that change.

In spite of the run of form that we're in and the disappointing season that the hosts have had to date Jim Bentley hasn't hidden his pleasure at coming away with a point, and a cleansheet.

Bentley told BBC Radio Lancashire: 'I think it's a point gained and a fair result to keep our unbeaten run going.

'Last year, we came here and got dominated and lost the game.

'We've come into this one on the back of a good run, and although they started better than us, we weathered the storm and it became a bit more counter-attacking from both sides.

'Northampton is a tough place to come. They've got good quality and I'm pleased with a point and a clean sheet.'

I wonder how many people would have expected the position that we're in to be the one that Northampton would be there, or thereabouts in?

If I'm completely honesty myself I would have to admit that I would have expected this you know but more than happy that it's not the case!
