Now Or Never!

Now Or Never!

Morecambe's difficulties in attracting supporters through the turnstiles at the Globe are well documented.

All three of the Shrimps home games so far this season have been below 2,000, in fact the average attendance at the Globe is around 1,600 this season with only Dagenham & Redbridge attracting less in league two...

A record 5,375 turned out at the Globe Arena when Newcastle came to town in the league cup last month and Jim Bentley hopes that the fact Morecambe have won their last four will see more turn up for the meeting with Dagenham this weekend.

He concedes that if they don't with that run in mind and the fact that Morecambe sit a mighty sixth in the division they never will!

Bentley told BBC Radio Lancashire: 'We always want more home punters coming through the gate.

'If they're not going to come and watch us while we're sixth in League Two, they never are.'

All the while attendances struggle Bentley will continue to be hamstrung with what he can and can't do with the squad, it's a vicious cycle really isn't it but all being well more will come through the gates as the more that do the better the club will perform this season...

Speaking of tickets, the tickets for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie with Carlisle at the Globe (being played next month) are now on sale, hopefully these can also sell well.

First of all though get down to the Globe this weekend if you can!
