I'm sure that a high profile Spanish international footballer, possibly a goalie, once missed out on a major tournament when he dropped something on his foot?

I can't remember who it was but I am sure that they dropped a bottle of aftershave or something on their foot? Is this ringing any bells with anyone at all?

Something along similar lines happened to Andrew Fleming this past weekend...

The midfielder missed out on Morecambe's game at Newport when he dropped a glass on his foot in a freak accident that occurred when he was just turning the TV off in his hotel room!

I will let Jim Bentley take up the story.

He told BBC Radio Lancashire: 'He went to switch the television off in his hotel, knocked a glass on the top of his foot and split his foot open.

'There was blood everywhere. It was like a murder scene when I went in there. It was just one of those things that happens, but thankfully we'll have him back next week.'

Fortunately for Morecambe the midfielder's absence didn't cost them and they still went on to win 3-2 at Rodney Parade, helped in no small part to the two own goals given to them by an opposing defender, who also gave away the penalty!

All being well Fleming will be back sooner, rather than later, but being a foot injury it might take a little longer to heal up, and will need to heal as much as possible before he returns or it will just keep busting open you'd think?
