Shrimps End Pre-Season With St Johnstone Win

Shrimps End Pre-Season With St Johnstone Win

Morecambe go into the new League Two season off the back of a morale-boosting win over St Johnstone.

Summer signing Marcus Marshall's first half strike, just past the half hour mark, proved the difference for the two sides with that goal enough to give the Shrimps a 1-0 win over the Scottish outfit.

Barry Roche made a couple of good saves, and other goals could have come Morecambe's way but a one-nil win was enough to give Jim Bentley a bit more confidence going into the new season.

St Johnstone: Clark, Caddis, Easton, Brown, Miller, Rodger, Trialist (Stewart 78), Davidson (Easton D, 60), Fallon, Kane, Edwards (Thomson 70).
Subs: Wotherspoon, Ma, Banks, Steeves, Scobbie, Gray

Morecambe: Roche (Arestidou 78); Parrish (Kenyon 69), Diagne (Threlfall 78), McCready, Hughes, Drummond (Williams 69), Fleming (McGee 69), Wright (Denson 78), Amond, Marshall (Sampson 75), Ellison (Mwasile 75).
