Shrimps Beaten By FA Cup Holders

Morecambe weren't quite able to hold FA Cup holders Wigan on Wednesday night when they slipped to a narrow pre-season defeat at the Globe.

Wigan had the better of the chances in the first half, and would have felt that they should have gone into the interval at least one-up.

An "unstoppable strike" from summer signing Marc-Antoine Fortune late on proved the difference with that goal giving Wigan a 1-0 win.
