Fletcher Rejection

Morecambe suffered a double blow within 24-hours, not only did they lose a player they thought they'd be keeping they missed out on the signing they thought they'd secured.

Jim Bentley had been trying to convince Wes Fletcher to come to The Globe, in fact he thought he had the former Burnley striker in the bag!

However, another League Two side has nabbed him. Bentley said: 'We were hopeful of bringing him (Fletcher) to the club.

'We've been chasing him for a while but he's decided to go elsewhere.

'It's a frustrating one because it was looking good and he's got a lot of potential.

'I met him several times and showed him round the ground but for one reason or another he's not coming here.'

If Bentley had hair he'd be tearing it out by now I'm sure but as frustrating as this summer has been for him, and as annoyed as he must be becoming, he's a fighter and he'll definitely fight on!
