Feeling Fit And Ready To Carry On

Feeling Fit And Ready To Carry On

Despite being 37-years-old Stewart Drummond remains one of the fittest players that Morecambe have.

A new deal was offered to the veteran, and he was happy to sign it!

Shrimps boss Jim Bentley, as he told the official website, had this to say: 'Stewart was one of our most consistent performers last season.

'He continues to defy his years as one of the fittest players at the club and he has the experience we need.'

Drummond, who started his career with Morecambe and now looks set to end it with the club too, wants to play as long as he can and combine this with his coaching position at The Globe.

He added: 'I said last year that I still felt fit and had no intention of retiring at the end of the season so I'm really pleased to sign up again.

'I've always wanted to play as long as I can and to do that, while getting more coaching and managerial experience at the same time, is perfect for me.'

If he can continue to do a job then it made sense to carry on!
