Shrimps Release Young Duo

Jim Bentley has decided that a young Morecambe duo don't feature in his long-term plans, as such they've been released.

Financially motivated moves had seen a couple of players moved on, with the likelihood of Dan Parkinson and James Short not being regulars for him next season you'd imagine in a way finances played a part here as he would only want players around he'll utilise enough.

Bentley, as he told the official website, praised both but felt they needed to go where they'd play regularly: 'Both lads have a lot of promise and I really do hope they find good clubs.

'They have both been great to work with and done really well with clubs on loan spells and I am sure they have good careers ahead of them.'
