Haining Forced Into Morecambe Exit

Haining Forced Into Morecambe Exit

Morecambe, down to a financially motivated decision, have been forced to part with another player that they would have liked to have kept at the club.

Will Haining will be parting company with The Shrimps at the end of his contract this summer.

Jim Bentley, as he told the official website, explained the decision: 'It's a similar story to Nick Fenton really.

'We wanted to keep Will and he wanted to stay but we could only offer reduced terms and couldn't agree a deal to keep him here at this moment in time.

'It's another disappointment for us as he showed just what a good player he is but we know what we have to work with next season and that has to be the way forward.

'I would like to thank Will for everything he has done for us. He has been a great lad to have around and we wish him well for the future.'

The 30-year-old put in a fine showing in his 133rd, and last, appearance for Morecambe in the weekend win over Southend.

It's another big loss for Morecambe, but the best interests of the club must come first.
