Striker Warranted New Morecambe Deal

Jack Redshaw extended his Morecambe contract last week.

A double was notched against York to celebrate this new deal with Jim Bentley, as he told BBC Radio Lancashire, thinking he more than warranted this: 'I know that he loves the place and I think he's improving.

'There's no doubt that he's got the ability. Look at the composure he showed for his two goals on Saturday.'

After weeks of negotiations Redshaw put pen to paper on a new one-year deal.

The Shrimps boss admits that these talks may have impacted on his dipped form before this new deal: 'We'd been speaking to him for a couple of weeks, and he'll be the first to admit that his performances dipped a little bit.

'Everyone's different and some people can put it to the back of their mind.

'He's a strong-minded person. When he gets around that final third, there's only one thing in his mind - he wants to score goals. I'm pleased to have him on board.'

Bentley clearly wanted him to stay, the fact that he signed a new contract means he also wanted to stay so it's good it's been sorted with The Shrimps, all being well, really benefiting as a result.
