Shrimps beaten by "new boss" syndrome

Plymouth 2-1 Morecambe
12th January 2013
15:00
Home Park

As can so often happen the arrival of a new manager resulted in an improved result as Plymouth beat Morecambe at Home Park on Saturday afternoon.

Plymouth raced into a two-nil lead following early goals from Conor Hourihane (10) and Paris Cowan-Hall (16). Morecambe almost got back into the game on the half hour but Kevin Ellison had an effort cleared off the line.

Ryan Williams came off the bench for his Shrimps debut and almost made an impact with a freekick before finally Williams (80) did mark his debut with a goal to reduce the deficit.

Morecambe pushed for a late equaliser but couldn't find it and slipped to a 2-1 defeat; also finishing with 10-men when Andrew Parrish was sent off.
