Cobblers too strong for Shrimps

Northampton 3-0 Morecambe
20th November 2012
19:45
Sixfields Stadium

Morecambe were beaten at Northampton on Tuesday night, but it could have been a different story had luck shined on them.

Had it not been for the post then Morecambe would have gone into the half time break ahead, as it was the sides were level.

Shortly after the break Adebayo Akinfenwa (56) continued his fine goalscoring form to give Northampton the lead with an own goal from Kevin Ellison (61), who was denied by the post in the first half, extending their lead.

A 3-0 Cobblers win was confirmed in the last minutes when Ishmel Demontagnac (90) rounded off things.
